We are committed to promoting the welfare and safeguarding all children at Churchfield Church School and expect everyone to share this commitment.’

In line with our safeguarding and child protection policy and statutory guidance we have clear procedures in school for responding to any concerns about a child’ s safety or wellbeing.

We take child protection extremely seriously at our school. If you have a concern, you can speak to the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead or one of the Deputy Safeguarding Leads:

Mr Ross Minton (Head Teacher) - Designated Safeguarding Lead

Mrs Claire Howell –  (Deputy Headteacher)   Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Mr Mark Anderson (Deputy Headteacher) – Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Ms Rebecca Lihou (Nursery Manager) - Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Our Designated School Governor for safeguarding is: Mrs Alison Murkin

The school also has access to a Parent and Family Support Advisor (PFSA). This support can be accessed through contacting the school.

If you are concerned about a child's welfare or worried they are being abused please contact one of the safeguarding team in school. Alternatively you can make direct contact with the Local Authority via the link below.

A member of the office staff ensures that the internal school gates are kept locked during the school day, so all visitors are asked to report to the main entrance.  The main vehicle ‘in’ gate will be locked during the school day and all vehicles should access the school grounds through the ‘out’ gate adjacent to the school office.

Please be mindful that for everybody’s safety, identification procedures will be carried out.  Visitors to the school will need to sign in and wear an identification badge during their time in the building.  All supply teachers and contractors working on site must provide photo ID and DBS clearance.  Visitors will be escorted around the site.

All members of staff are vetted against national safeguarding procedures before being allowed to work in school. At least one member of every interview panel has undertaken safer recruitment training to ensure that best practices and all necessary checks are carried out.
