Consultation on Proposed Change to Age Range at Churchfield School and Nursery

Churchfield School and Nursery is currently undertaking a consultation regarding the change to our age range.

In accordance with Department for Education (DfE) guidance, the school has moved from welcoming children aged 0–11 years to 2–11 years.

This consultation provides an opportunity for parents, carers, staff, and all interested parties to share their views on the change by emailing into office@churchfield.bwmat.org.  We welcome feedback from everyone connected to our school community.

The consultation will remain open until Friday 6th March 2026. Once the consultation has closed, we will review all responses and publish a summary of the feedback received, along with the next steps.

Welcome to Churchfield Nursery!

Churchfield Nursery is the beginning of your child's education journey. This is where our youngest children experience the love of learning fostered through exciting play based opportunities, enabling environments and experiences in the wider community. Churchfield Nursery are part of the education provision of Churchfield Church School & Nursery and belongs to the Bath and Wells Multi Academy Trust. 

Churchfield Nursery operates term time from as early as 8.30 am and our last session ends at 4:00 pm Monday to Friday. We are of course willing and flexible to support the community and welcome suggestions from parents to ensure our operating hours are suitable for you into the future.

Churchfield Nursery are a play based and child centred Nursery provision, where we ensure your child is supported to reach their full potential and have all the opportunities they need to thrive. The Nursery believes children must have the opportunity to explore the world around them and have as much outdoor experiences as possible. We are very fortunate to be part of a wider School community with large grounds to explore every day!

Childcare funding for 2-year-olds

Nursery Sessions

We have many nursery sessions to choose from, to ensure we have something suitable for all families. Our sessions are:

8:30 am - 11:30 am

11:30 am - 14:30 pm

14:30 pm - 16:00 pm

The sessions above are pick and mix sessions that can be used to create either short nursery sessions or longer days that are flexible to your needs.

Fees

Fees from January 2025:

Nursery 2's provision £6.10 per hour or part hour

Preschool provision £6.00 per hour or part hour

Hot meals are £2.00 (You can provide a lunchbox if you choose) - These can be booked and paid for through ParentPay.

Late collection fee is £5.00 per 15 minutes.

Free Entitlement Hours

15 hours per week of Universal funding is available to all children from the start of the term after their 3rd birthday.

Eligible children may be entitled to an additional 15 hours of funding per week, from the age of 2.

Payment

Invoices are issued through the Nursery Famly software and payments can be made through the School's Arbor system. Voucher and other Government payment schemes are accepted.
