For our last week before the summer we are going to practise the phoneme er.
Remember er is a digraph (2 letters that make 1 sound) and make the same sound as last week’s phoneme ur.
Words to practise:
How many other er words you can find?
Sentence for writing:
The farmer gets up at six in the summer.
You and I can meet on the corner.
Yes/No question (for reading):
Can a hammer chop wood?
Here are some high frequency words to learn, try putting them into a sentence with one of the er words for writing. For example: The children came for dinner. I asked to sit in the digger. I could hit the log with the hammer.
Keep practising all the sounds and tricky/high frequency words over the summer and I look forward to seeing you in September.
