Parent and Family Support Advisers (PFSA's)
Your PFSAs (Parent Family Support Advisors) are Becci and Beks. We are based at King Alfred’s school but work for all of the schools in the Burnham and Highbridge area, visiting them regularly to see students and attend meetings.
As PFSAs, we offer free and impartial support, advice and guidance to parents and carers of children aged 4-19 years as well as school staff. We offer parenting courses, 1:1 work and group work with children within the school setting and family work within the home. We support students who feel they face barriers to their learning and attendance and during the summer term, we assist the KAS staff with the transitions events for the year 6 students.
From September 2018, we will be holding regular monthly workshops which are open to all families to attend. These will be focused sessions, giving parents and carers the opportunity to meet us, ask questions and discuss any support needs that you may have. It is also a good opportunity to strengthen your social networks and share support between parents. We encourage parents to come along to these sessions as we often find that issues can be resolved very quickly when people talk with us; this reduces the need for formal PFSA involvement and can mean that situations can improve sooner, rather than waiting to see us.
If you feel that you need support in any area, you can speak to us or speak to your school who will be able to get in touch with us and if necessary, make a referral for PFSA support. If you need help with something that we do not cover, we are happy to signpost you to the relevant agencies so that you receive the support you need.
If you have any questions the PFSA Manager is Beks Saunders, please contact us on the following number or you can email us:

We look forward to seeing you around the schools and at the monthly workshops and will be happy to answer any questions you may have about our role.
