Our blended learning appoach
Blended learning during National Lockdown
During this difficult period of lockdown Churchfield Church School are providing a blended learning approach for children. Teaching teams have the extremely challenging job of providing face to face teaching for those children who are in school as well as a remote learning package which meets the needs of all children who are working at home.
Each day your class bubble teachers (the 2 teachers in each year group) are providing pre-recorded videos for you and your children to access, to support and guide the home learning. These videos will be supported by documents which should help you and your children to learn effectively. We believe that this is the best way of catering to the needs of most in terms of ease of access. This will ensure children and parents are not becoming stressed or pressurised by time, particularly those with more than one child.
These videos will replicate the same learning which is taking place in school for those children who are accessing provision on site, ensuring that all children are being provided with the same standard of education and are able to make the same levels of progress in their learning.
In addition to this, based on the feedback from our families, we have added 2 daily live meetings for parents and children to meet with teachers and discuss the learning which they have been completing at home. This is the first port of call if you need extra support or advice with what your child or children have been doing.
You will receive a phone call from your teacher at least once a week to check in and support in any way we can. However, please do not wait for this call if you have an issue or concern. Each class has an email address and this is checked daily with responses coming as soon as teachers are able to around their teaching commitments.
We welcome feedback at all times, positive and areas for improvement, as we all strive to provide the best possible education for your children.
Please be kind to yourselves and do not beat yourself up about remote learning. Do what you can - if your child doesn’t manage to complete all the tasks set, that is ok. A happy parent results in a happy child - if today you are doing your best, then your best is good enough. Of course, we are always at the end of the phone; available for a quick chat through Teams or can get in touch with you by email should you need any support.
