Each week in Year 2, the children are expected to complete the following homework:
Please read at least 5 times a week and recorder in their reading record. Remember that this can be any reading you choose to do - your school book, your favourite magazine, a sports' website or anything else you are interested in.
Practising your times tables - learning our tables to 12 x 12 is really important. In Year 2, we are concentrating on learning our 2, 5 and 10 times table. Please practise these with your child.
In class we regularly practise our spellings and use them in our work. We test spellings when we have finished teaching that particular spelling rule.
Please see your child's teacher if you have any questions about the homework.
Due in: Thursday 7th November 2019
Over the last few weeks, we have been learning about instructions in our English lesson. Please use your new skills to make something, write something or do something to share with the class. Here are some ideas but be as creative as you like;
Follow a recipe to make something tasty
Build something following instructions
Play a new game by reading the rules
Write the rules to a game you’ve made up yourself
Write instructions on how to dress for a Halloween party
Write instructions on how to carve a pumpkin
Do your own thing that fits with our theme!
Please come ready to share what you did on the 7th November. This can be; written work, photographs or just being able to tell the class what you did.
Please note, if your child attends homework club, this homework will not be completed in that time. Homework club will concentrate on hearing your child read, practising their tables or learning their spellings. Spellings can be found on the class webpage.
Please complete the Maths homework relating to number bonds.
27.09.19 and 04.10.19
We have been learning about tradition tales. We have shared lots of different versions of the 'Three Little Pigs'. Please make something to go with the story. It could be a puppet, a straw house or even a chimney. You can be as creative as you like!
Please write a book review for your favourite book. Why do you like it? Who is it for? What was your favourite part?
Please bring in a baby photo for our classroom display. This term we are learning about staying healthy and growing. Please keep your photo secret so we can try to match them up to the children in class!
Please complete the 'All About Me' bunting ready for our class display. These were sent home in the children's green books. When they are completed, please place them in the classroom basket.
