Dentist visit.

The Year 4 Team have been looking forward to seeing all of your smiling faces. We are looking forward to having a great year of learning and fun!

You have had a brilliant first week back, Bristol Class. I am really proud of how much effort you have put in with every activity. You have all settled in really well and all children have said they have enjoyed their first week back.

We have been focussing on our PRAISE values and Love to Learn and Learn to Love this week, which has been a brilliant reminder of our high expectations for ourselves and others.

We have also started to look at out Burps, Bottoms and Bile Science topic and cannot wait to go on our trip to find out more! We have looked at our teeth and we will continue to do this as the term goes on. We are looking forward to our visit from the dentist to find out more about their job and the health of our teeth and gums. We are looking forward to having your letters back for swimming and the trip.

Don't forget PE on Wednesdays and Friday Swimming.

We have loved learning about our PRAISE values this week. We are going to work hard on them all this year, especially independence!.

Science Visitor on Wednesday 8th September 2021

Science week, May 2021

We had great fun learning about First Aid this week.

We really enjoyed walking to the church to pay our respects and thinking about all of the people and animals who lost their lives during the wars and serving in the military. We read our prayers and poems and stood for our 2 minutes silence.

Some photo's from our World War 1 workshop

We had great fun making role playing the Bridgwater squibbing, making pictures of them and writing a recount of our trip to the squibbing.

We have been working really hard in English to create a setting description using adjectives, expanded noun phrases, similes and varied sentence openers

In RE, we have continued to learn about Diwali, the festival of light. We made diva lamps and discussed how these help the Hindu community to come together to celebrate.

We really enjoyed our DT project based on harvest. We designed, made and evaluated pumpkin soup. Some of us really like it and asked for seconds while others were not impressed by their creation!

During our Music session we have been learning to play the ukulele, it's been great fun and we now know the A and C chord and can use it to play 2 songs. We are hoping to appear in the Somerset Sound Calendar and on YouTube soon!

In Science, our learning module is Animals including Humans. This week we were looking at muscles and how they work in pairs contracting and relaxing. We made these models to represent it.

We have been learning all about Romans as our History Learning Quest. As a cross curricula link in Art we made Roman Bust Statues of ourselves as Gods, Celtic Round Houses and Roman Villa. We then compared these houses in English and decided we'd rather live in a Roman Villa!

We really enjoyed meeting Scorcha and Jellus, who are characters in the story we are looking at, and asking them lots of questions.

In RE we have been learning about Diwali, the festival of light. We have shown off our dance moves during the celebration music and made colourful Rangoli patterns to understand how Hindu families come together and join as a community.
