This week we are learning how to write a non-chronological report. Please complete the activities below over the week and complete a spelling activity daily. Look at the other information page to get your code for the hive game on Friday.
We will find out the difference between fact and opinion and think about sentence starters for reports.
Fact – something that is true
Opinion -something that a person may believe or feel.
Example fact: We are learning at home.
Opinion: I think learning at home is fun.
Think about your classroom at school. Write two facts and two opinions about your classroom and write them down.
Now you have thought about these facts write 5 facts about plants.
Use the word wall wheel to find interesting words for your sentences.
For your 5 facts about plants use the word wall to find two different great sentence starters.
Spellings: This week’s spellings are
obey, prey, convey, survey, grey, osprey, disobey, they, surveyor, conveyor
To learn them, you can use a variety of methods.
Write them down, cut up the letters and put them back together again
Ask someone to sound then out to you.
Practise writing each one in a sentence (use a dictionary or google to find the meaning of words you do not know)
Write them in alphabetical order
Play games on spelling shed
Reading – don’t forget to read
Books, comics, magazines, posters, recipes, menus, leaflets, online articles, receipts, letters, they all count!
